Domenica, the creator of the blog “Una Girandola di Colori,” is redefining Italian elegance through mindful fashion, creativity, and authenticity. Calm yet confident, she has built an inspiring digital space that blends style, lifestyle, and self-expression. In this exclusive interview, she shares her journey, her philosophy on fashion, and the challenges of being a modern content creator.

Introduction: A Whirlwind of Colors and Confidence

When you meet Domenica, the first thing you notice is her natural elegance — effortless, serene, and full of self-awareness. Originally from Puglia and professionally trained in Bari, she has turned her passion into a profession, creating a blog that speaks to women who love fashion with depth and meaning.

Her platform, Una Girandola di Colori (A Whirlwind of Colors), launched in 2018, quickly became a hub for women interested not just in trends but in the stories, sustainability, and soul behind style.

“I don’t see fashion as excess,” Domenica says. “It’s a reflection of who you are — a language that speaks about your values and your personality.”

Q&A with Domenica

Q1. Domenica, how did your journey into fashion blogging begin?

Domenica:
“It all started as a personal project in 2018. At that time, life had become a bit monotonous, and I found myself shopping out of boredom. I began to reflect on that behavior — why was I doing it? To free myself from that habit, I started reading and learning about minimalism, capsule wardrobes, and skincare. Most of the material came from American authors, and I realized there was room to bring an Italian perspective to those topics. So I began sharing my own experiences, and that’s how Una Girandola di Colori was born.”

“I started blogging to understand myself better — and in doing so, I discovered a whole community of women who felt the same.”

Q2. Your readers are known to be curious, thoughtful, and creative. Who are they, and what do they look for in your content?

Domenica:
“My audience is mostly women — professionals, freelancers, creatives — who live fast-paced lives but appreciate slow, intentional choices. They don’t follow me just to see the latest trend; they want to understand why something matters. They’re curious about the story behind a garment, the sustainability of a brand, or how a designer evolves over time.”

“My readers want fashion that tells a story — not just what’s in style, but why it’s meaningful.”

Q3. You studied Educational Sciences and Training. How did that background influence your current work?

Domenica:
“I graduated in 2015, and at that time, the expected path was clear — find a stable government job, maybe start a family, and follow the rules. But I felt limited by that model. I worked in the social field right after graduation, but it didn’t ignite my passion. With blogging, I finally felt free again — free to express myself, to share ideas, to create.”

“Through my blog, I found my voice and my lightheartedness again.”

Q4. Many people still think fashion blogging is just a hobby. How do you respond to that?

Domenica:
“It’s definitely not just about taking pretty pictures or wearing nice clothes — that’s only 1% of what you see. Being a content creator today means being a storyteller, a strategist, a writer, and sometimes even a photographer and marketer. I plan my shoots, study SEO, follow social media algorithms, and maintain relationships with brands and agencies.”

“It’s not a hobby. It’s a profession that requires skill, consistency, and a deep understanding of communication.”

She adds with conviction:
“When people say, ‘You’re lucky,’ I smile. Because it’s not luck — it’s discipline. It’s waking up early to catch the right light, working evenings to understand what content resonates, and having the courage to put your face out there, even when criticism comes.”

“Luck doesn’t build success. Passion and strategy do.”

Q5. You often speak about authenticity and being true to yourself. Has that always been easy for you?

Domenica:
“No, not at all. I’ve always been quite private and not very outspoken. For a long time, I avoided confrontation or sharing opinions that might differ from others. But with the blog, I found a way to express myself more freely. Now, when I receive criticism, I don’t take it personally — I focus on my purpose and my community.”

“The moment I stopped trying to please everyone was the moment I became truly free.”

Q6. What challenges do you face as a woman in the digital fashion world?

Domenica:
“One thing that still hurts is when the criticism comes from other women. I’ve always supported women, so it’s disappointing when I see jealousy or negativity instead of collaboration. But I’ve learned to focus on the positive — on building bridges, not walls.”

“Empowered women empower other women — that’s my belief.”

Q7. What does fashion mean to you today?

Domenica:
“For me, fashion is storytelling. It’s how we communicate without words — through textures, colors, and choices. It’s not about trends; it’s about identity. I believe in buying less but better, supporting ethical brands, and dressing in a way that feels true to who you are.”

“Fashion is freedom — the freedom to be yourself, one outfit at a time.”

Q8. What advice would you give to young women who want to start a fashion blog today?

Domenica:
“Start with passion, not with the goal of becoming famous. Be curious, authentic, and patient. Study communication, learn about branding, SEO, and photography — but above all, stay true to your message. There’s room for everyone who brings originality and sincerity to the table.”

“Find your voice, stay consistent, and remember — your uniqueness is your strength.”
